The Asian stock markets edged up
The appetite for risk is very limited ahead of the US open on year-end dollar buying from investors adjusting their portfolios. The markets remain sidelined ahead of New Year’s Eve and of the ongoing “fiscal cliff” negotiations. The House of Representatives will reconvene only Sunday evening to resume talks, which will give our politicians only one day until the “fiscal cliff” deadline! The euro, franc, yen and Canadian dollar open lower, and the pound and Australian dollar marginally higher.
