Fund manager charged with insider trading in Dell
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) – The Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday charged a former fund manager and a wealth management company, Whittier Trust Co., with allegedly trading on insider information in Dell and Nvidia Corp. . The SEC alleges that former fund manager Victor Dosti used non-public information obtained from employees at Dell and Nvidia to trade in advance of five quarterly earnings announcements in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He allegedly obtained profits and avoided losses of more than 5,000 for Whittier Trust funds, the SEC alleges.
