E-Trade reports wider fourth-quarter loss
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — E-Trade Financial Corp. late Thursday reported its fourth-quarter loss widened to 6.1 million, or 65 cents a share, from .3 million, or 2 cents a share, a year earlier. Net revenue fell to 7.7 million from 5 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had forecast a quarterly loss of 56 cents a share on revenue of 7 million. The online brokerage also set aside million in loan loss provisions during the quarter. E-Trade shares slumped 4% to .85 in after hours trading.
