MADRID (MarketWatch) — Deutsche Boerse AG said on Monday that it’s not in merger talks with CME Group Inc. . Citing persons familiar with the talks, Bloomberg News reported Monday that CME had approached the Frankfurt-based exchange about a tie-up. The report said CME contacted Deutsche Boerse at the end of 2012, which was before IntercontinentalExchange Inc. said it would buy NYSE Euronext , according to those sources. Those people said CME and Deutsche Boerse met again in January to discuss whether formal takeover talks should begin. But no decision has been taken nor have terms been discussed, those sources said. A spokesman from CME declined to comment on the story.
